Join us for a transformative 2-day course designed specifically for primary school secretaries. This comprehensive program focuses on essential soft skills and strategies you need to excel in your role, enhance your well-being, and manage your workload effectively.  The programme also aims to reduce stress and foster positive relationships within the school community, ultimately contributing to a more harmonious and efficient school environment.

  • Part 1 - Monday 7th October (1pm to 4pm)
  • Part 2 - Monday 14th October (1pm to 4pm)

By the end of this programme, School Secretaries will be able to:

1. Demonstrate effective communication skills, including active listening, clear verbal communication, and the use of positive non-verbal cues, to enhance interactions with students, parents, colleagues and school staff.

2. Develop the ability to identify and navigate conflicts within a school environment, applying conflict resolution techniques. They will also demonstrate increased interpersonal skills in their interactions with individuals involved in the school community.

3. Demonstrate time management strategies, organisational skills and stress reduction techniques.

4. Apply key data management and technological skills.

Bio - Fiona Levie is a seasoned consultant and lecturer, specializing in change, project and knowledge management, decision-making & problem-solving, leadership, teamwork strategy, design-thinking and enterprise innovation. She currently shares her expertise with UCD’s Professional Academy and collaborates with consultancy companies and multinational organisations. Drawing from her early career background as Executive Assistant to a multinational organisation’s CEO and senior leadership, she integrates this practical experience into her teaching and consulting work today. By harnessing current thinking in soft skills, and implementing the latest in digital technology, Fiona drives enhanced efficiency and productivity in today’s workplace landscape.
