We are delighted to facilitate a support group meeting at Carrick on Shannon Education Support Centre for Principals.
Guest Speaker - Sinead Tighe
Primary School Teacher with over 10 years experience teaching in Ireland. Strong education professional having completed a Post Graduate Diploma and Master of Education focused in Educational Leadership, from University of Limerick. Graduated as a Personal, Business & Executive Coach in May 2024.
TOPIC - EmpowerEd workshop - Coaching for Teacher and Leader Growth
EmpowerEd is a bespoke programme designed to support teachers and school leaders through coaching. This interactive workshop focuses on supporting school leaders in strengthening collaborative practices, fostering teamwork, and enhancing communication within schools. Participants will also build resilience and well-being strategies to manage stress and maintain balance, ensuring sustained passion for education.
Learning Outcomes;
- Building Resilience and Well-Being: Teachers will learn strategies to manage stress, maintain work-life balance, and cultivate emotional resilience, promoting their well-being and sustaining their passion for teaching.
- Strengthening Collaborative Practices Primary teachers will develop skills to enhance effective collaboration within their school, focusing on building strong, supportive professional relationships. This includes improving communication, engaging in constructive feedback, sharing best practices, and fostering teamwork through peer mentoring, co-teaching, and collaborative planning. Teachers will learn to create a culture of collaboration that benefits both staff and students by promoting collective
problem-solving, curriculum development, and shared accountability for student success. - Enhancing Methodologies & Fostering Reflective Practice: Teachers will develop and refine diverse teaching methods, ensuring they can effectively engage students with varying learning styles and needs. This includes mastering differentiated instruction, active learning techniques, and classroom management skills. Teachers will strengthen their ability to self-assess and reflect on their teaching practices, continuously improving through feedback, peer collaboration, and personal insight, fostering professional growth.
- Building Leadership Capacity: Educators will develop key leadership skills to inspire and guide their teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Through coaching, participants will enhance decision-making, communication, and strategic thinking abilities, empowering them to lead with confidence and effectively drive positive change within their school community.
