Dyslexia at Bay Presentation for Post Primary Teachers -20LC-SP09.

Dyslexia at Bay Presentation – To gain an understanding of Dyslexia and how to meet the Student’s Needs in the Post Primary Classroom.

The first part of the Dyslexia at Bay Presentation will give teachers a really good understanding of the difficulties that students with dyslexia experience. The topics covered in the presentation are as follows: spellings, reading, eye-tracking, comprehension, sequencing, writing skills and   processing speeds.

The second part of the presentation gives practical advice to second level teachers as to how they can alter/tweak their own teaching methodologies in order to meet the needs of the students. This part of the presentation is further broken down to meet the different needs of teachers from different faculties i.e. the humanities, science subjects and practical subjects. It also explains the different terminology used in relation to dyslexia.
