Teachers Experiences of Their School Leaders

In 2023 – Orla conducted a survey of almost 200 teachers to find out what their experience of their school leaders has been. In this 1 webinar she will share her findings about leadership, motivation, distributed leadership, support for leaders and from leaders and simple changes schools can work more effectively as a team.

Expected Outcomes

• Learn how teachers see their school leaders and if they see themselves as a leader in an official or unofficial capacity
• Gain an insight into what their school leaders do that makes them feel appreciated and how they thank their school leaders – cultivating a culture of appreciation.
• Learn simple strategies that teachers and leadership teams can utilise to develop leadership in others and cultivate a positive environment.

Bio

• Orla is a leadership coach and primary school teacher – specialising in competency based (STAR) job application forms and interview preparation for school leaders.
• She specialises in simplifying the Looking at Our Schools Document and embedding the standards in everyday ways to assist teachers in developing their leadership capacity.
• She is the owner of The Teacher Promotion Club - designed to help teachers to move to the next step of their leadership career.
