Wed 3rd April 2019
We are inviting you to take part in “Write a Book 2019”.
This year we are only swapping and judging books written by pupils from 3rd to 6th class. Pupils in the junior classes (Infants to 2nd class) may take part but their books will not be swapped with another school, therefore there is no charge for junior classes to take part.
All participants will receive certificates. Participation certificates and highly commended certificates will be given to schools to present to pupils themselves at their own event/assembly. Special Merit awards (one per class/teacher) will be presented at a special presentation evening in June. (Date and venue to be confirmed).
Should you wish to take part, please fill in the application form and return it to Carrick-on-Shannon Education Centre together with payment (€10 per class/teacher, from 3rd to 6th class only) by 10th April 2019.
Full details in relation to Write a Book, application form, rules and guidelines are attached below. Class lists, book ID’s and certificates of participation will be forwarded to those schools that register.
Note: PDST are running two after school workshops on “Motivating Children as Readers & Writers” on the 30th April & 7th May from 4pm-6pm in the Bush Hotel. These workshops may be of interest to any teachers taking part in the Write-a-Book project.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further queries.
